The City of Thibodaux will continue to monitor and make decisions through the City’s Unified Command Group in regards to Hurricane Ida recovery. The priority of work for the next 24 hours is the first phase in the recovery phase of the storm. So far 1,000 contractors have been staged throughout the City. The City of Thibodaux is prepared to accept first responders utility workers from other regions. Thibodaux Family Church will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM offering food, water, and ice to those in need. Any monetary donations can be made to Thibodaux Family Church, Catholic Charities, and Second Harvest Food Bank. For those who are able to donate, please consider donating water, tarps, toiletries, etc. Walmart, Rouses, Lowes, and some local gas stations are open for business in Thibodaux. As a reminder, while intersection signals are down, please treat those areas as a four way stop.

The City of Thibodaux is currently in the active phase of recovery operations. A curfew remains in effect from dusk to dawn until further notice. City of Thibodaux roads are cleared at 90% and will begin debris removal; also, water and sewer production remains in tack and working to restore power.

The City of Thibodaux would like to ask everyone to shelter in place and stay off the roads. The time to evacuate has passed. A curfew remains in effect until further notice and it exists for the safety of everyone in the area. First Responders will not be responding to calls as it is not safe to be outside. The outer and mid bands are making landfall now. These next 12 hours will bring substantial winds with the worst between 5-9 PM. The City of Thibodaux is currently in the active phase of this storm and expects primarily a wind event. Residents can expect downed power lines and are reminded to stay away from them for their own safety.
