City of Thibodaux - Hurricane Ida Response Information

A nightly curfew remains in effect from 7 PM to 6 AM. This curfew is being strictly enforced for the City of Thibodaux and Lafourche Parish.

A burn ban remains in effect for the City of Thibodaux and the surrounding areas.

The United States Postal Service operations are suspended until further notice.

Good Earth Transit will not be operating their fixed route in the City of Thibodaux or paratransit until further notice.

Storm debris is scheduled to begin Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Zones 1 & 5 (due to no overhead utility conflicts) of the included image. Avoid placing storm debris under overhead obstructions such as utility lines and streetlights. Debris should be separated into the following three separate piles to improve the debris removal efficiency.

1) Construction Materials/C&D (roofing, sheetrock, wood with nails, screws, brackets, etc.

2) Vegetation/Trees (tree limbs, branches, shrubs, bare lumber, leaves). Avoid the usage of plastic trash bags.

3) White Goods/Appliances (refrigerators, freezers, AC units, dishwashers, etc.)

Regularly scheduled trash pickup has resumed with limited service. This is the blue Pelican waste bins and should NOT include storm debris. Please ensure to keep waste bins by the road, since they may not be following their normal garbage pick-up schedule.

It is the responsibility of contractors to remove the debris associated with their work.

There is a Point of Distribution (POD) center at Thibodaux Family Church (785 N. Canal Blvd Thibodaux, La 70301). Food, water, and ice is being distributed from 9AM to 5PM while supplies last. 

There is also a distribution center at House of Prayer Church (2229 Hwy 3185 Thibodaux, La 70301). Donated supplies are being distributed from 1PM to 4PM while supplies last.

Non-profit organizations continue to expand their efforts. The key items for donation are electrolyte drinks/powders, tarps, toiletries, household cleaning supplies, socks, t-shirts (ladies & mens), and carbon monoxide detectors. Confirmed non-profits servicing the residents of Thibodaux are Thibodaux Family Church, Thibodaux House of Prayer, Catholic Charities, and the Second Harvest Food Bank.
