The City of Thibodaux urges residents to check references and ensure the contractor is licensed, bonded, and insured before hiring for Hurricane Ida repairs. Citizens who use an unlicensed contractor do so at their own risk of liability, no warranty, and no recourse for substandard work. If you are unsure about a contractor, please visit the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors website at www.lacontractor.org and read their “Weathering the Storm” informational packet on things to look for when hiring a contractor, which can be found at https://lslbc.louisiana.gov/wp-content/uploads/weathering_the_storm.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0OlZm1v4Nd03DnWGLBdeJBoXpi4zAeHKE5mpzWtMbvyW5uDk76yNazjlw.
It is the responsibility of any and all contractors to remove the debris associated with their work.
