The City of Thibodaux is pleased to be selected as one of the 47 recipients of the 2025- 26 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Trash Receptacle Grant Program made possible with funding from the State of Louisiana and Office of the Lieutenant Governor. The City of Thibodaux will install 5 trash receptacles at Captain Wayne Daigle Memorial Park and Adley Landry Water Reservoir.
Through the 2025-26 Trash Receptacle Grant Program, Keep Louisiana Beautiful awarded 230 receptacles to 47 organizations in 31 parishes.
As part of the requirements of this grant, the City of Thibodaux will perform a post-installation litter scan and compare the data collected to preliminary scan results. Data will be shared with the public once available.
“Litter is hurting our quality of life in Thibodaux,” says Kevin Clement, Mayor of the City of Thibodaux. “With these new receptacles installed, we will be able to reduce litter and keep our community clean and beautiful.”
“Recent data collected by Keep Louisiana Beautiful shows a reduction of litter by 78 percent in areas where trash receptacles are properly installed and maintained,” says Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. “One of our organization’s key initiatives is to help build infrastructure that supports clean, beautiful communities. Funding trash receptacles is one way we do that. Congratulations to the City of Thibodaux for being selected as a 2025-26 Trash Receptacle Grant recipient.”

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, LA DOTD’s road construction job, located on LA 308 from the intersection of Percy Brown Road and LA 308 to the intersection of Canal Boulevard and LA 308, will resume, and we urge residents and visitors to plan accordingly for traffic delays on both LA 308 and LA 1. The contractor that was hired by LA DOTD will mill and overlay areas of LA 308 that were previously patched. During working hours, this area of LA 308 is open to one lane of traffic, and there will be a flagger and Louisiana State Police on site directing traffic. Allowed working hours for the contractor will only be from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and this phase of the project should last approximately a week. The City of Thibodaux will continue to be in contact with LA DOTD and the contractor during the project and will inform the public of any changes.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
