City of Thibodaux - Hurricane Francine: Lafourche Parish Curfew Extended

Due to the impacts from Hurricane Francine, Lafourche Parish officials have extended the curfew currently in effect until 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Everyone in Lafourche Parish should remain sheltered in place until that time. Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are actively enforcing the curfew, and essential personnel should be carrying their ID or placard.

Lafourche Parish officials will enact a 12:00 PM (Noon) curfew for tomorrow Wednesday, September 11, 2024, due to the updated weather forecast for Francene and will stay in place until sunrise on Thursday, September 12, 2024. This includes the City of Thibodaux. All businesses should be closed by 12:00 PM (noon) for employees to make it home before the strongest storm impacts begin.

The Thibodaux Police Department will be out throughout the City of Thibodaux - Municipal Government and the Nicholls State University Police Department will be on Campus enforcing the curfew but will allow a grace period for business workers to arrive home.

Essential personnel should be carrying their ID or placard displaying they are indeed essential personnel. T.P.D. has a full deployment of staff to maintain security in our community, as well as other agencies throughout the parish.

Due to the approaching Tropical Storm Francine, the City of Thibodaux will close our City Offices and Facilities for non-essential personnel on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and Thursday, September 12, 2024. City offices and facilities are expected to resume normal business operations on Friday, September 13, 2024.
