COUNCIL CHAMBERS USE POLICY AS PER EMERGENCY DECLARATION JBE 2020-117:

In accordance with Governor John Bel Edwards emergency declaration effective September 14, 2020 through October 9, 2020, the City has established a maximum capacity of 50% of the Louisiana State Fire Marshal occupancy limits for Council Chambers. The State Fire Marshal has established an occupancy limit of 60 people; therefore, for the duration of this emergency declaration, the maximum capacity for Council Chambers shall be 30 people. Individuals that have placed items on the agenda for any City Council or Board meeting scheduled in Council Chambers will be allowed first access to the meeting. All other individuals will be allowed on a first come first served basis until the maximum capacity is reached. An Administrative Liaison will be monitoring the entry to all meetings, and will also be available to accommodate the entrance of individuals that are required to wait outside until such time that entry is allowed once full capacity is reached. All hallways and lobbies shall remain clear at all times.

Face coverings shall be worn for all meetings conducted in Council Chambers.

Attachment: Proclamation #117 JBE 2020 - Phase 3 Emergency Declaration

Today, Mayor Tommy Eschete made a decision to move the City of Thibodaux into phase three of the City re-opening plan. The City of Thibodaux will enter phase three on September 16, 2020. The City of Thibodaux phase three is in compliance with all directives set by Governor John Bel Edwards and Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson.

Here is the information on the City phase three:

City Parks and Recreation will have organized fall activities with restrictions as set by the City
Harang Auditorium will resume organized events with restrictions as set by the City
City buildings return to normal business hours with restrictions as set by the City
State fire marshal capacity limits will be situational and applied by Department Heads as required
City Council Chambers meetings remain limited to 30 people with restrictions as set by the City
All physical meetings will adhere to the state fire marshal capacity limits
The public using City programs must agree to all guidelines as set by the City
Masks are required by the public in all City facilities and at organized events and activities.

Due to the threat from Tropical Storm Sally, the City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2020, will be postponed until a later date. A new agenda will be sent out once that date is determined.
