The City of Thibodaux Parks and Recreation Department has postponed or canceled the following:
All City Baseball / Softball Fields are CLOSED until further notice
Youth Volleyball League POSTPONED until April 13th (at the earliest)
Youth Basketball League POSTPONED until April 13th (at the earliest)
Men’s Basketball League POSTPONED until April 13th (at the earliest)
Line Dancing Program CANCELED until further notice
TREC-UP Easter Egg Hunt Event CANCELED
All Parks Event Rentals scheduled through April 13th are CANCELED and/or POSTPONED to a later date.
We will continue to accept registrations for the following upcoming programs and are currently still running on schedule at this time: Tiger Sharks, Swimming Lessons, H2O Baby Water Class, Summer Baseball / Softball, and the Baseball Heroes programs. Today Governor John Bel Edwards issued a statement that reflects all gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited, casinos and bars will be closed, restaurants are closed to on-site eating and can only serve through delivery or take out and movie theaters will be closed. These restrictions are statewide and take effect tonight at midnight extending to April 13, 2020.

Attachment: Louisiana Governor’s Executive Order
Today state, parish and local officials conducted a statewide conference call in reference to COVID-19. Governor Edwards issued an executive order after the call. The City of Thibodaux participated in this conference call, as well as a follow up meeting with Lafourche Parish officials. City Officials would like to reassure the residents that the government efforts continue to be coordinated at the City, Parish, State and Federal Levels. In order to get the most current information, residents should check CDC.gov, LDH.LA.gov or the City of Thibodaux’s website (Emergency Preparedness). The State of Louisiana is using the 211 system to provide informational updates to the public. Residents can simply dial 211 or text the keyword LACOVID to 898- 211 for the most current information.
