CONGRATULATIONS to Josh Stroud
Josh, a freshman at E.D. White Catholic High School, received a standing ovation at Tuesday's Council meeting. He was presented a proclamation from Mayor Charles Caillouet and the City Council for being named the “National 2003 Student Ambassador” for Middle School students. Josh has also been selected by The People to People Student Ambassador Program to travel with Alabama High School Delegation to Japan on June 24, 2004. Click here for the full proclamation.

MOVE YOUR FEET! Enrollees and people interested in enrolling in the Move Your Feet exercise program for Thibodaux will meet June 16 in the Peltier Park Recreation Center. Registration for new members will begin at 5 p.m. A 1-mile fun walk will be followed by a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Participants turning in their first exercise log will receive a pedometer to begin logging their daily steps. The Portions Healthy Weight Management Program, session 1, will take place 6 to 7 p.m. Call Debbie Melvin at 446-1316 for more information on Move Your Feet or the Portions program.
Our June Senior Mayor for a Day is Ms. Betty Roth Hebert; Nominated by the the Chamber of Commerce: Honorary Mayor Hebert has been a lifelong resident of Thibodaux, living most of her life on Green Street. "Thibodaux is a wonderful City," stated Honorary Mayor Hebert, "I'm so proud of it. It's come a long way." Mayor Hebert's father owned Roth drugstore, now known as Fremin's restaurant. She has 6 grandchildren which are "such a delight." Accompanying Mayor Hebert in the picture is her daughter Denise Fox. Mayor Caillouet and Honorary Mayor Hebert enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Western Sizzlin (courtesy of Western Sizzlin).
