The goal of the Jubilee Festival is to raise the level of awareness in the arts and humanities for the University and the southeast region of Louisiana that it serves. The purpose of the Jubilee Festival is to educate the student body, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding communities on matters of interest to the arts and humanities; to furnish role models through presenting locally and nationally distinguished lecturers and performers both on campus and in the surrounding community; and to raise consciousness and appreciation of the arts and humanities.

On Thursday, April 15, Thibodaux Main Street in conjunction with Nicholls Jubilee will feature "Art's Alive," an art show and reception with local artists and musicians, cosponsored by Shaver Robichaux Insurance and the Lorio Foundation at 507 West Third Street from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The artists will display and sell their work outside in the downtown area. Thibodaux Recreation Department is now accepting applications for summer employment for the T.R.D. 2004 Summer Programs. Positions available are: Scorekeepers & Umpires; Arts & Crafts Workers; Camp Counselors; and Lifeguards (Red Cross Certified.) Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be responsible. Applications accepted at the office in Peltier Parke Recreation Center (Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - NOON & 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) until April 23, 2004.
Other positions available: Aerobic Instructor; Camp Director; and Municipal Pool Director.
