The Thibodaux City Council is meeting on Tuesday, July 1 at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.  For your convenience, the Council agendas are posted on our website the Friday before each meeting.  Past agendas are also available via website.  Click the quick link Council Agendas on our home page – http://ci.thibodaux.la.us/ Thibodaux Area Habitat for Humanity is holding their annual Playhouse Raffle on Tuesday, July 1, 2003.  Tickets can be purchased at the Habitat home store located at 800 Jackson Street on Tuesday’s and Saturday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or at the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce – 985-446-1187.
The work on LA 20 is almost complete!  The construction of physical improvements of the Rienzi/LA 20 Intersection has been completed.  Public Works is now waiting on Light standards and arms to complete project.
The Bayou Community Band will hold a patriotic concert at Talbot Hall at Nicholls State University on Tuesday, July 1 at 7:00 p.m.  The concert will also be held in Raceland at the Junior High on Sunday, June 29 at 3:00 p.m.  Admission is free for both concerts.  Donations are accepted for the organization.  All members of the armed forces, past and present, are invited.  The oldest veteran will be honored and all service songs will be played. FARMER'S MARKET:  Bring the children back to the market this Saturday to play with the animals in the petting zoo.  The Main Street Market is open every Saturday (weather permitting) from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. downtown Thibodaux on LA 1 and Maronge St.  If you are interested in a booth at the market, please call Joyce Benoit at 448-1474.
Come join the fireworks!  The 2003 Let Freedom Ring Festival, sponsored by the City of Thibodaux, Veterans of Vietnam War and the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Peltier Park on Friday, July 4th.  Come enjoy the live music entertainment, auction, fireworks and great food.  No admission.  Click here for more information.

As a community we all support law enforcement efforts to protect us from theft, burglary, assault, and terrorism.  Yet, many otherwise law-abiding citizens continue to view impaired driving merely as a harmless traffic offense.   Click here for full press release.

Tae Kwon Do classes are held at the Peltier Recreation Center on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.  Contact Jerome Poche′ at 985-446-0296 to register.  Sessions for Tuesday’s and Thursday’s are as follows:

1st Session

5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

2nd Session

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Swimming available this summer… Family swimming memberships for the Thibodaux Municipal pool are available this summer season.  Memberships are available at $150 per family and members of the public may use the pool for $3.00 per day.  Contact the Municipal pool at 985-446-7240. Soccer Camp in Thibodaux this summer!  The Parks & Recreation Department will start accepting registration for the 2003 P.A.R.D. Soccer Camp from Tuesday, June 10 to Saturday, July 19.  Katie Bilello, former NCAA soccer player for McNeese University, will direct the camp.  Click here for more information. 
Aerobic classes are also being held in the Peltier Recreation Center.  Contact Beverly Boudreaux at 985-446-1620 to sign up or register before class with one of the instructors.  Classes are as follows:
