The Thibodaux High School Band presents the 2003 BayouLand Spectacular.This is a competition featuring 20 of the Gulf Coast’s finest winter guard and winter percussion groups, in an exciting blend of music, drums, flags, dance and theater which will include groups from Thibodaux High School, E.D. White High School, Vandebilt High School, Terrebonne High School, Destrehan High School and Berwick High School.The event will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at the Thibodaux High School Gymnasium.Percussion begins at 4:00 p.m. and Color Guards begin at 6:00 p.m.Children under 6 and adults 65 and older are admitted free of charge.Proceeds help support the Thibodaux High School Tiger Band.Tickets are $5 and will only be sold at the door.
Students from Thibodaux High and E.D. White were busy on Tuesday, February 4, 2003.The City of Thibodaux participated in the Chamber of Commerce’s 2003 Job Shadow Day.Johnny Chapman, a sophomore from Thibodaux High, shadowed the City directors last Tuesday.Rabbit Landry, Recreation Director, stated, “Mr. Chapman is a very tentative student and the time he spent with me was very educational.He was amazed at how much work went on with not only my department, but the City of Thibodaux as well.”
With Open Arms… The City of Thibodaux and the community welcomed Howard Robertson as Chief of Police after the City Council ratified the mayor’s appointment on Tuesday, February 4, 2003.Mr. Robertson was joined by his wife and family at the swearing-in ceremony immediately following the Council meeting.
