THIBODAUX Firemen’s FAIR

 
Where the food is HOT
 
 
and the fire is NOT! 

 

Join the fun, Thursday through Sunday, May 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th for the 2002 Thibodaux Fireman’s Fair located on the Firemen’s Fairgrounds on Tiger Drive. 

The fair will include live music all weekend, carnival rides, family entertainment, and delicious food and drinks. 

All eight fire companies of Thibodaux volunteer their time and talent to put on this event each year.  Come join the festivities and help support the finest Volunteer Fire Department in the world! 

Schedule of events can be picked up at City Hall, the Chamber or almost any local business in town.

“ExceptionallyBusy Weekend for the Thibodaux Police”

Beginning Thursday evening toSunday night (April 25 to April 28) the Thibodaux Police Department was verybusy with a considerable amount of complaints, accidents, arrests and issuanceof traffic citations. There was special emphasis applied to the area of trafficenforcement.  Thibodaux Police ChiefCraig Melancon stated, “With the number of traffic related citations andarrests this weekend, it is apparent that the creation of the department’sTraffic Division, and the goals and objectives determined to be of a priorityfor the division, is needed to provide safety for our citizens as they travel onthe city streets.”  “It isimperative that citizens slow down and obey traffic signal devices. It will simply save lives, reduce property loss, of course protection oflife is our most important objective.”

Ø     ThibodauxParks & Recreation Department will be starting registration for the Arts& Crafts Summer Programs and the New Summer Art Workshop onWednesday, May 1 through May 31 8:00 am to noon & 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (Mon -Fri.) at P.A.R.D.

Ø     Reminder:The Farmer’s Market re-opening is Saturday, May 18th. The marketwill be open 7:00 am till 11:00 am every SATURDAY- DowntownThibodaux on LA 1 & Maronge.

 

Ø     TheThibodaux Beautifation Coalition will join together for Spring Planting onSaturday, May 11th. Plans are to meet on the Boulevard at 9:00 a.m.
