Peoplewho are late are often happier than those who have to wait for them.
For those of you who haven’t heard… Thibodaux won the Cleanest City District III Title on Wednesday, April 17th! Thibodaux will now compete against other District III winners in the State Cleanest City Contest on Wednesday, May 1, 2002. The judges are scheduled to arrive in Thibodaux at 9:00 a.m.
The designated route is: Canal Blvd.; 2nd St.; Green Street; 5th St.; 7th St.; Bayou Lane; St Joseph Nursing Home; Thibodaux Regional, Audubon Ave.; Rienzi Dr.; and LA 1 from Nicholls State to St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mayor Charles Caillouet stated, “It was an honor to win the District III title and we look forward to competing and winning the state title.” The Mayor also stated, “All residents and businesses along the route should cut and clean their property as well as beautify their location. It will take a cooperative effort to win at this level.”
Ø Know anyone moving to Thibodaux? Newresidents can now pick up a Utility Customer Welcome Packet at the UtilityDepartment customer service window, Room 102 at City Hall, 310 West SecondStreet. Included in the packet is awelcome letter from Mayor Charles Caillouet, utility service information, autility application, an authorization form for direct payment of utility bills,a map of the City of Thibodaux, and a SDWI garbage and recycling schedule, alongwith a few more tid-bits to help you with your move. Ø TheCity of Thibodaux has scheduled a public hearing to be held at the Civic Centeron Thursday, May 30 @ 5:00 p.m. concerning the Couplet System. David Dodgen andDOTD will conduct the meeting. Interestedresidents are encouraged to attend.
