Mayor Charles Caillouet Asks Residents to

Prepare for Inclement Weather

Thibodaux, LA – Due to the inclement weather associated with Hurricane Ida, Mayor Charles Caillouet asks Thibodaux residents to take precautions by clearing the area around their homes and removing any outdoor items that could become hazardous projectiles during windy conditions. Since we are also expecting several inches of rain, Mayor Caillouet ask residents to assist by clearing catch basins located on or near their property.

Mayor Caillouet said, “Parish President, Charlotte Randolph has declared a State of Emergency for Lafourche Parish at 7 a.m. this morning and I will continue to communicate with parish officials and city administrators. I am confident that the City is prepared for the storm conditions that will affect the city in the next 24 to 48 hours.” City offices remain open today.

Eric Faucheaux, Public Works Director said, “We are preparing for the inclement weather by clearing area catch basins, clearing major drainage areas, closely monitoring the city’s forty sewer lift stations and sewer reservoir levels, checking back-up generators, and increasing the water level in the Adley Landry Reservoir.”
