PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

 

The administrator for the City of Thibodaux’s Planning and Zoning Commission is the Zoning Administrator.   All re-subdivisions of property and subsequent development thereon is subject to the control of the City of Thibodaux’s Planning and Zoning Commission for the orderly, planned, efficient and economical development of the City of Thibodaux.  The Planning Commission has the power and authority to review, approve and disapprove plats for subdivision of land within the incorporated areas of the City of Thibodaux.  In those cases where a proposed subdivision will include the construction of new streets, roadways, drainage facilities and/or utilities to be dedicated to the City of Thibodaux for subsequent maintenance and operation, the Planning Commission shall make a recommendation to the City of Thibodaux Council for final disposition of the preliminary and final approval applications.  Final approval and acceptance of offers for dedication of improvements shall be by ordinance of the City of Thibodaux. 

 

The Planning and Zoning Commission has monthly meetings scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Applications and accompanying subdivision plats must be received at least fifteen (15) days prior to meeting date in order to be placed on the agenda for the monthly meeting.
