         On Sunday,February 12, 2006 at approximately 7:00AM, the Thibodaux Police Departmentreceived a call from a concerned citizen.  The caller stated there hadbeen some vandalism to the Thibodaux Civic Centerlocated at 310 North Canal Boulevard in Thibodaux.  The caller also told policethat a possible suspect was found underneath one of the stairwells and is stillinside the building.

          Whenpolice arrived at the Civic Center they observed thatthe rear door had indeed been kicked in allowing the suspect entry.  Asthe police searched the interior of the building, they located Christopher Dumser attempting to exit the building.  When the Policemade contact with Dumser, they quickly observed thathe had a strong odor of an alcoholic about his person along with dry blood tohis right hand which had numerous small cuts.  When questioned about hiswhere about of Saturday night, Dumser told police heonly remembered attending a wedding reception.

          The vandalism consisted of the rear door where entry was made, a trailervacuum, a broken window on an outside trailer, and the glass of two side entrydoors.  The estimated damages totaled $82,620.00.    

           Dumser was placed under arrest and transported to theThibodaux Police Department where he was booked and charged with (1ct) SimpleCriminal Damage to Property {over $500.00}, (1ct) Unauthorized Entry into aPlace of Business.  Dumser was later transportedto the Lafourche Parish Detention Center to await bond.
