Investigation of Assault in Cemetery

July 13, 2004

 

The Thibodaux Police Department wishes to announce that theDetective Division is currently investigating an assault that occurred in alocal cemetery in the city limits on Sunday July 11 at approximately 4 P.M. The assault was on a white female that was visiting a family gravesite inSaint Joseph Cemetery. 

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’5” –5’9”, 200 – 220 pounds, (has somewhat of a pot belly), and brown hair. At the time of the assault, the suspect was wearing a horizontallystriped, red, white, and blue pull over tee shirt, a baseball type cap and sunglasses.  The suspect was last seenrunning toward the rear of the cemetery, which she described as the MenardStreet side. 

The Police Department is asking for anyone withinformation that may have observed a person matching the given description at oraround the time of this assault in the neighborhood of the Saint Josephcemetery.  This observation may havebeen either on the Louisiana Highway One or the Menard Street side. Please contact the Detective Division of the Thibodaux Police Departmentat 985-446-5021.  The Department isalso asking for any information from anyone that may have had any similarexperiences to contact the Detective Division.
