Congrats to Captain Scott Toups

Mayor Charles Caillouet along with Thibodaux Police ChiefHoward P. Robertson, wishes to make the following announcement:

 

Captain Scott Toups graduated March 19, 2004 from the FBINational Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.  The 216th Session of the National Academyconsisted of men and women from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, PuertoRico, 24 international countries, two military organizations, and three federalcivilian organizations. 

Internationally known for its academic excellence, theNational Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers eleven weeks ofadvanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officershaving proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average, these officers have 19 years of law enforcement experienceand usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions. 

Training for the program is provided by FBI Academyinstructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanceddegrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields ofexpertise. 

Captain Scott Toups of the Thibodaux Police Department wasa classman at this 216th Session of the National Academy. Captain Toups successfully completed the eleven-week program, whichincluded academics as well as physical fitness, with a 4.0 grade point average. Captain Toups was also selected to teach several leadership courses whileattending the Academy. 

Chief Robertson promoted Captain Toups to the Commander ofthe Operations Division, and the second in command of the Thibodaux PoliceDepartment. 

Captain Toups, following his return from the NationalAcademy stated:  “I would like tothank the City of Thibodaux and the Thibodaux Police Department for affording methe opportunity to attend the FBI National Academy.  I am looking forward to utilizing the training and knowledgegained from the Academy and applying it in my assigned duties as OperationsCommander.  I will thrive to havemore training and education for the Thibodaux Police Department throughnetworking and contacts established while attending the FBI National Academy.”
