On February 26, 2003 at around 12:10am, Officer TJ Crochet of the Thibodaux Police Department was headed north on Canal Blvd. when he saw a vehicle in front of him driving erratically near the intersection of Canal blvd. and Back Street.
Officer Crochet then initiated a traffic stop where he then met with the driver identified as Tarie L. Prejean Age 22 of Napoleonville. Officer Crochet then detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Prejean. With this, she was issued a series of standardized field sobriety tests that she failed.
Ms. Prejean was then transported to the Thibodaux Police Department where she was then given a chemical test for intoxication. The result of this test was a blood alcohol concentration of .156g%.
Ms. Prejean was then booked on the charges of Following to close, improper lane use and first offense DWI. Ms. Prejean was then released after posting a $350.00 bond.
