On Saturday, December 14, 2002 at approximately 12:30 a.m. two Thibodaux Police Officers were doing a business check at the Cadillac II Club located in the 1200 block of St. Charles Street. The officers observed a subject running from the club being chased by several other subjects. The police officers were advised by the subjects that they were not chasing anyone, but were trying to help the fleeing subject because he had been injured inside the club. The officers observed that the victim was bleeding heavily from an injury to his head. Acadian Ambulance Service transported the victim to the Thibodaux Hospital.
The officers made contact with the subject and were advised that two subjects inside the club had jumped him, and they tried to rob him. The two suspects were identified as Chris Frank, 21 y/o of 542 St. Charles Street and Alex Pharagood, 23 y/o of 312 Hyland Drive.
The 23 y/o victim advised the officers that he had gone to the restroom inside the club and was followed into the restroom by Franks and Pharagood. Once inside the restroom the victim advised that Franks grabbed him from behind and then Pharagood punched him in the face and then went through his pockets. The victim also advised that both Franks and Pharagood struck him in the head with bottles. The victim advised that he was able to get away from Franks and Pharagood and he then ran out of the club.
While in the process of conducting an investigation at the St. Charles Street location officers received information that the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center had reported to the police that a subject had arrived at the emergency room, by ambulance, with injuries to his hand. The subject in question had informed the hospital staff that his hand had been cut due to being in a fight. Responding officers arrived at the hospital and made contact with the patient, who was identified as Chris Frank. Frank had been previously identified as one of the suspects in the aggravated battery and attempted robbery currently being investigated by the Thibodaux Police Department.
After receiving treatment for his wounds Franks was transported to the Thibodaux Police Department where he was booked for one count of Aggravated Battery and one count of Attempted Robbery. Franks was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. Franks’ bond was set at $10,000.00. A warrant was issued for Alex Pharagood.
On Sunday, December 15, 2002, the Thibodaux Police located Alex Pharagood. Pharagood was arrested on the warrant. Pharagood was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery and one count of Attempted Robbery. Pharagood’s bond was set at $10,000.00.
