TRAFFIC STOPTURNS INTO DRUG ARREST
On Monday, February4, 2002, a Thibodaux Police Officer conducting a traffic stop in the NorthThibodaux area, noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from itís vehicle. Shortly after, while outside of the vehicle, the officer then noticedthat the driver, who was identified as Jerry Adams, Jr., 32, of Lindsey St.Thibodaux, threw something across the street. The officer retrieved the item and discovered that it was a wadded-upcigarette box that contained a small amount of suspected marijuana. Adams reportedly admitted to throwing the suspected marijuana across thestreet.
Adams wasplaced under arrest and transported to the Thibodaux Police Department. Adams was then booked and released after being issued a traffic citationfor speeding and a summons for Possession of Marijuana.
