EX- EMPLOYEE CHARGED INBUSINESS BURGLARY
OnNovember 8, 2001, the Thibodaux Police Department received a call of a businessburglary at the Dansereau House Restaurant & Inn in Thibodaux. When Officers arrived they observed that an office door had been kickedin and later learned that the suspect had taken several business checks duringthe burglary.
TheThibodaux Police Departmentís Detective Bureau immediately began investigatingthe burglary and discovered that a check had been forged and passed in theThibodaux area. Based oninformation received from the forgery, Detectives developed Ronald Stokes, 34,of 1712 Midland Drive Thibodaux, as a suspect. Stokes was listed as a temporaryemployee with the restaurant where he occasionally worked.
Throughfingerprint evidence, Thibodaux Police Detectives were able to positively link Stokes to the crimes. Warrants were obtained forStokesí arrest in connection with the burglary and forgery. On December 4,2001,
RonaldStokes was arrested on warrants and charged with one count of burglary and onecount of forgery. Stokes was latertransported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
