Welcome to the Thibodaux Police Department’s Website. As you view the various segments of the site, you will see that your police department is striving to address the complexities of today’s law enforcement, doing all that we can to advance our technological capabilities, but never losing sight of our most critical asset- our local citizens.

The Thibodaux Police Department takes great pride in the fact that we are highly involved in areas of Homeland Security, doing whatever we can to do our part towards our Nation’s security. We continue to be highly engaged in local crime fighting efforts as well. Through tough enforcement against those who commit crimes against persons and property, we strive towards being a police department of action; one that reflects a deep passion in what we do, and a desire to serve with competence and integrity. We will never waiver in our efforts to reach these goals.

I am proud to be your Chief of Police. I am committed to excellence and will always make myself available to you. No matter how small an issue you may think your matter to be, I, along with the dedicated men and women of your police department will always address your concerns as being ever so great. You should expect no less.

Serving you with honor, dedication, and integrity, I am,

Respectfully yours,

Craig A. Melancon
Chief of Police
