First off and most importantly, thank God for our volunteer fire fighters. Come out to the Fireman’s Fair and support them while having the time of your life. We here at the TPD truly appreciate the partnership we share with the TVFD.
The first quarter of 2012 is in the books and to no one’s surprise at the TPD, crime and crash totals have been dramatically reduced compared to the historical average. A few examples;
- Burglaries are down 46%
- Thefts are down 22%
- Crashes are down 60%
- DWI arrests up 433%
These numbers represent an intelligence-led policing model, efficient policing by the individual officers and great community cooperation. This combination improves the quality of life for all of us.
Finally, please tune in to Charter’s Main Street TV Channel 18 nightly at 6:30 to catch our new episodes of Chief’s Corner. It’s been an excellent opportunity to partner with NSU Mass Communications students to produce an informative and “sometimes” entertaining program.
