The Thibodaux Police Department announces the arrest of Aaron O. Queen, 19 years old of 1104 President Street in Thibodaux.  Queen was charged with attempted forcible rape and distribution of “crack” cocaine.

A Patrol Officer, assigned the night shift on the evening of October 7, 2003, was traveling in the 1100 block of Lagarde Street at approximately fifty minutes past midnight.  The Officer observed an unnamed female subject holding a large metal object, waving her arms and yelling at a male subject standing near her.  This male subject was known to the Officer as Aaron Queen.  The Officer contacted the female who informed him that Queen tried to rape her.  It appeared that this female had been in some type of physical confrontation as she was disheveled and had bleeding scratches on her elbows and knees.

Queen was secured and placed in the rear of the Patrol Officers unit.  The Shift Commander and another Patrol Officer arrived on the scene for assistance.  The night Detective also arrived and began processing the scene for any possible evidence of the alleged crime.  Several personal items such as shoes and jewelry were collected and photographs were taken of the suspected crime scene.

The suspect and victim were transported to the police station, at the Detectives request, for questioning.  The victim who was later provided with a ride home gave a video and audio taped statement.

Queen also gave video and audio statements.    Following this taped statement, and investigation by Officers of the Thibodaux Police Department; Queen was escorted to the booking area where he was charged with forcible attempted rape and distribution of “crack” cocaine.

Queen was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being held on $25,000.00 bond.

The evidence collected at the scene is being processed and this investigation continues.  The name of the victim is being withheld.
