COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP DAY /
CLEANEST CITY CONTEST

Spring has arrived in Thibodaux when you hear the announcement of the City of Thibodaux’s Annual Spring Community Clean Up Day.  On Saturday March 22, any person interested in participating in the clean up is urged to be at Peltier Park for 8:30 a.m. to sign up.  Garbage bags and gloves will be provided to volunteers and specific areas to clean up will also be assigned.  This is a great opportunity for groups in need of service hours!

The City of Thibodaux, Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce and the Thibodaux Garden Club are co-sponsoring the Spring Community Clean Up Day in preparation for the Cleanest City Contest, to be held on the following Monday, March 24, at 9:45 a.m.  This effort is directly geared toward bringing the community together to get the city prepared for the annual Cleanest City Contest, co-sponsored by the City of Thibodaux and the Thibodaux Garden Club.

The City has begun working very hard in trying to get those details completed prior to the contest.  Painting curbs, cutting grass, weeding, picking up litter and gravel and cleaning catch basins are just a few of the ways the city participates in this contest.  “We hope that all citizens show their support of the city by volunteering on Saturday and getting your neighborhoods ready.  The City of Thibodaux has a lot of pride and this is one way for it to be shown”, stated Mayor Charles Caillouet.

For more information or to sign up as a volunteer please contact Cindy Griffin 493-8757 or the Chamber 446-1187.
